Schizachyrium scoparium or Andropogon scoparius (Little Bluestem)

Schizachyrium scoparium (Little Bluestem) is one of the best native grasses for landscaping!  Its compact growth habit lends itself well to a border placement and mass plantings.  It has a nice form and a blueish hue in its leaves during the summer that gives way to a nice orange/pink fall foliage which can give excellent winter interest.
